Initial session is focussed on reaching an understanding and diagnosis of what is causing your pain and developing a treatment plan. Treatment may hands on manual therapy, acupuncture alongside exercise lifestyle advice
During follow up sessions review and reassess progress and continue to help you move towards your goals through a combination of hands on therapy, exercise rehabilitation and exercise and lifestyle advice. Follow up sessions are up to 40 minutes
Telehealth appointments are appointments carried out over Zoom or similar video platforms. We introduced this service during lockdown and it continues to be both effective and popular, allowing patients to continue their treatment when travelling, or otherwise unable to attend the clinic.
Your initial session is focussed on finding out what is going on, reaching a diagnosis and creating and starting your individualised treatment plan. It involves full case history, any orthopaedic neurological testing as indicated, assessment of the affected area and how it works with / is effecting overall body movement and posture.
Follow up sessions are normally up to forty minutes. In these we review your progress, re-evaluate and continue and develop your treatment and exercise rehab programme.
Some patients benefit from slightly longer treatment times. Extended treatments of sixty minutes are available to allow for more treatment time and in-depth exercise rehabilitation. Always check with your osteopath before booking this service as more isn't always better.
We are providing this service to continue look after our existing patients as well as people in the community who may be suffering with muscle joint or nerve pain and conditions and need to access professional advice without leaving their house or using up over stretched NHS resources.
Whilst we can not provide a diagnosis via this service we can give good evidence informed advice to help you know what you can do next.
